About Jamia Islah-ul Banat, Saharsa, Bihar

JIBTS – Jamia Islah-ul Banat, Saharsa, Bihar stands as a pioneering institution devoted to the comprehensive education and empowerment of girls from rural, backward, and underprivileged backgrounds. Established with the belief that educating a woman transforms an entire family, Jamia Islah-ul Banat has made remarkable advancements in bridging the gap of literacy and opportunity in marginalized regions. The institute manages its central campus along with an extensive network of 101 branches (Makatib) that reach deep into villages where education is often a rare privilege.

At its core, Jamia Islah-ul Banat provides education and opportunities to 665 girls at its central institute, supported by the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Islamia Girls Inter College, which is also under Jamia’s management. The organization’s commitment to education goes far beyond the walls of its main campus—with over 13,000 students enrolled in the branches, Jamia’s impact reverberates through the lives of thousands of families across rural Bihar. The branches (Makatib) serve as a lifeline for villages desperate for change, offering quality educational programs where few such initiatives exist.

Jamia Islah-ul Banat has played a crucial role in academic and character development. More than 7,300 students have passed out from the branches after completing Class 6 with a strong foundation in Deeniyat, and have gone on to pursue further studies at colleges, universities, madrasas, and professional institutes across India. In addition, over 6,000 alumni of Jamia have successfully settled into married lives free from the burden of dowry—a powerful testimony to the social reform initiatives embedded in the institution’s mission.

The physical infrastructure is being continuously expanded to accommodate the growing needs of the community. With 14 classrooms already completed and plans underway for 8 additional classrooms and 20 toilets, Jamia Islah-ul Banat welcomes support and donations for these vital projects, including contributions from unwanted bank interest earmarked for toilet construction. The campus itself spans 4 acres, offering a secure and tranquil environment for learning and personal growth.

Preparing strong, capable women is at the heart of Jamia’s approach. The cost estimates reflect the substantial resources required to nurture a Hafiza (₹50,535), an Alima (₹67,376), or a 12th pass student with Deeniyat or Momina course. The yearly operational cost of a branch is ₹36,000, underscoring the scale and commitment required for sustaining its education movement. Support for Jamia Islah-ul Banat is facilitated by their banking partnerships, and donations are accepted under recognized tax exemptions (80G, 12A, FCRA), ensuring full legal compliance.

Jamia Islah-ul Banat’s philosophy is anchored in the values of compassion, integrity, and selfless service. The institution invites privileged individuals and supporters to participate in its noble mission by donating Zakat, Sadqua, and Fitra, ensuring the ongoing transformation of lives in Saharsa and its surroundings. Through education, character building, and social reform, Jamia Islah-ul Banat continues to stand as a beacon of hope, opportunity, and lasting change for generations to come.
